The purpose of the Public Policy Committee is to review proposed legislation and regulations, establish an NHAR position on political issues and regulations, and to advise staff and contact lobbyists on strategy and position; to assist in the creation and passage of proactive legislation and to monitor regulatory agencies and other governmental and political events. Its overarching role is to serve as a watchdog to protect the interests of the estate owners and prospective home buyers and sellers, and to improve the business climate for its 6,000-plus REALTOR® members.
